Cassie England, scomparsa lo scorso mese per via di una rara malattia della pelle, verrà citata nell'imminente film Black Hat di Good To Be Seen Films.
Any panel, roundtable or seminar that concerns technological advancements in film is bound to hit upon the issue of audience engagement. How we can best make use of the embarrassment of riches the internet affords us in finding the right people to watch our film.
Filmmaker Robbie Bryan has managed to collect (at the time of this writing) 235,427 Facebook likes for his upcoming film Black Hat, that’s still only in the development stage. He’s leveraged his fan base into an ambitious Seed & Spark campaign, interacting with them along the way and soliciting their input in the shaping of his script. Is this the new meaning of collaborative filmmaking?
"When the screenplay for Black Hat finally arrived at my desk to read, I knew immediately that I wanted to produce it. Not because of its very unique backdrop of anime, manga (Japanese comics), and cosplay, which certainly adds a fresh slant to this 'road trip' movie, or because of its subject matter—teen bullying—which is so prevalent today in schools (especially in the LGBT community). I certainly find myself wanting to talk to each and every one of these kids, who have feelings of isolation, loneliness, and despair everyday. I want to hug them and tell them, 'This is not the end; it is barely the beginning.'"
"Earlier this month, the national fundraising campaign for Black Hat launched to promote the passion of the anime, manga and cosplay community with writer/director/actor Robbie Bryan (iMurders, The Stand-In). The launching pad is with Seed & Spark, a truly independent filmmaking community where filmmakers and audiences come together for crowd funding, production, and streaming distribution. "
